In Remembrance…

Into Your arms, Dear Father, we stumble and fall as we try to remember the sacrifices that have been made for us.

Nearer to You, we want to always strive to be even as we remember those who have gone before us.

Receive our honest groanings and cries for Your comfort and strength this day and the days ahead.

Enter into our space, Father, as we lay down our pride and selfishness in recognition of Your unfailing love for us.

Move among us, Father, to heal our hurts, restore confidence and to again use us to bring Your comfort and peace to our world.

Enliven our spirits with Your Spirit, to remember the love it takes to lay down ones life for another and help us not to take that love for granted.

Make us aware of the greater good that You, O God, have for us as You love and guide us to be more like You each day.

Bring Your peace, O God, to our hearts, our minds, our spirits and our physical bodies.

Remove the bitterness from our hearts that keeps us from each other and You.

Allow a fresh breeze of encouragement to blow on Your children to refresh and comfort us today.

No remembrance of those who have gone before us would be complete without a realization of Your Son Jesus Christ who blazed the path of righteousness ahead of us.

Consider, O God, our remembrances today of those who have died to maintain truth and justice and personal freedom.

Effect in us, Father, Your will to bring Your unfailing love, peace and comfort to those who grieve and to all who need to know that You are always with them. In the name of the One who always remembers and always loves.  Amen!
