To Be A Saint…

Maybe more than anything else, to be a saint is to know joy.

Not happiness that comes and goes with the moments that occasion it, but joy that is always there like an underground spring no matter how dark and terrible the night.

To be a saint is to be a little out of one’s mind, which is a very good thing to be a little out of from time to time.

It is to live a life that is always giving itself away and yet is always full.

  1. Hammond – Thanks for this quote. Recently I have been challenged in my personal faith – reconciling the past with the present and somehow longing to see a brighter tomorrow. But I think that the work God is really trying to do in me is tapping into this JOY. I read about overflowing, abundant JOY because of faith and not circumstances but I must say I don’t think I have ever quite gotten there. I have found healing, I have found joy – but I am longing to be overflowing! I would appreciate your prayers on this journey!

    • My pleasure to pray for you. God is the God of Joy. We may not live in it at all times, but His presence is always near. I’m speaking on Jesus as the “Alpha and Omega” this week. In that claim of Jesus: “I AM the Alpha and the Omega”, lies a wonderful promise and hope. May that the the essence of our joy: that He was and is and is to come, the first, the last, the beginning and the end. Thanks,
