Freedom in Christ…

Life Among Death

(an acrostic prayer)

Father, eternal God, one and only Savior, we come to thank You for the freedom we have in Your son, Jesus Christ.

Remind us what Your freedom means today as we allow Your word to, once again, wash over us to cleanse us of our misunderstandings.

Enter into our thoughts and remake our minds so that we may know Your thoughts to the degree we are able, Father.

Emanate from us the truth of Your Good News so that the world would come to see and know You as they see us, O God!

Destroy, in us, the thoughts of self-made-ness and self-saving-ness that Satan so often tempts us with, Father.

Open our mouths with Your Spirit to speak the truth of Your freedom as we encounter the falsehoods of Satan today.

Move over us, Father, to remake us in Your image and create in us a “want-to”, to be more like You as Your word sinks deep within our beings.

Implode our sinfulness and cleanse us from within by the power of Your Spirit. May we allow Your Spirit to be the force of our lives from now throughout eternity, Father.

Nearer to You, we want to be, Father. We want to be nearer to You as Your word brings us freedom in Christ.

Consume us in Your will, Father.  May we be useful to You as Your word conforms us to Your will.

Hear us, O Lord. We want to know Your will and Your way today, even as we are known by You.

Reveal to us the true freedom that is ours in Your Son, Jesus! May we humbly receive and humbly offer Your truth to the world today, O God.

Involve us in Your work today, Father. May we intuit Your call on each of us today, O God.  Help us to understand!

Send us from this place and time with a renewed knowledge of why we have this freedom in You.

Together, Father, may we, individually and corporately, give You the honor, and the glory and the blessings of this day that the world may know that You are Lord.

In the name of freedom, even Jesus Christ, we pray.  Amen!

The Path Continues….
