(an acrostic prayer)
Precious, adoring, loving, Father; we pause in our over-busyness to offer praise and thanksgiving to You today.
All that we are, all that we have, all that we will ever be, is a gift from You, Lord. We come to lay ourselves at Your feet in worship.
Lead us to Your throne today, Father, as we celebrate the sacrifice of love and life that You offer in Your Son, Jesus.
Move us from familiarity to intimacy with Your Son, our Savior, Jesus. Help us to draw near to You through him, O Father.
Show us again, Father, the everlasting-ness of Your love and grace that you sent to us in Jesus.
Use Your word, O God, to break our pride and selfish nature, that we may, in our brokenness, become whole again in You.
Nearer, still nearer to You is what we want to be, O Lord. Your word promises that if we draw near to You, You will draw near to us. Thank You, Father.
Discernment, O Lord, we seek a heavenly discernment for the days in which we live. The worldly discernment that we see daily has led us to sin. Open us up to Your holy discernment today, O God.
Allured by the things of this world, we are in need of Your forgiveness and cleansing, Father. Wash over us, Lord with the peace of Your grace and mercy.
Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and forevermore. Amen!
