Choices…

(an acrostic prayer)

Coming now to You, dear Father, we choose to worship You by the power of Your Spirit and in Your truth today!

Hear our prayer, O God! Receive us, Your children, as we consciously wait before You.  We bring our “want to” to You in something of a sacrifice of praise to You today.

Over all that we say and do in this hour, Father, we lay our love for You and ask that you remake us to show Your love for us to all we come in contact with today.

Intercept our selfish choices and replace them with Your will for us, even today, O Father.

Control our going out and our coming in, Father, that we may go where You go and do what You do.  We long to be more like you, Father.

Eternal are Your choices, dear God! May we learn to think like you think, to decide as You decide and to love like You love!

Send us from this place, O Lord, that You word may live in and through us. May the world see our choices and want to know why we chose to do what we do. Help us to tell them about Your Son, Jesus, our savior.

In the name of the only choice for eternal life, Jesus Christ, our Savior, we pray.  Amen!

Jesus Saves…

(an acrostic prayer)

Jehovah God, merciful Father, ever-present Spirit, we come in praise and joy to worship You; You who saves.

Eternal in the heavens, You are, yet ever-living in us; those that You have saved as Your children, O God. We praise You for saving us!

Show us the path You have for each of us to walk and to whom we should share Your call to salvation, Father.

Use us, Father, to make known Your love in those places that know no love, that don’t know how to seek Your love, and in those places we are today.

Send us from our comfortable to the uncomfortable, from our pride to Your humility, and from our self-sufficiency into Your love, Father

Surely You have borne our grief in Your saving love on the cross of Calvary, dear Jesus. We bow low in repentance and adoration to You.

Accept out thanksgiving and make us worthy to praise You, O God. We seek to be like you, O God.

Victorious is Your grace and mercy, dear Father, Victory over sin and death is Your love legacy to us. To You be the glory.

Enlighten us with the truth of Your word today, Father. May we live in the light of Your Spirit today.

Send us from this place of worship in the power of Your Holy Spirit, into the places that need Your light reflected from us into the darkness, O God.

We pray in the power of the only one who saves, even Jesus Christ. Amen!

(an acrostic prayer)

Overseeing Father, infinite supplier of grace and mercy, we come to Thank You for saving us through the blood of Your Son, Jesus.

Hear our prayer of grateful love and appreciation as we come to worship You today.

Take us from where we are to where You want us to be in Your grace, O Father of us all.

Help us to be so aware of You that we do not accept this world’s presence as our authority, but live to please You!

Erase the stain of our sin as You remake us, in this place, and in the world where You have called us to live.

Blot out the stains of the sins that easily beset us, Lord! Though our sins be scarlet, make us white as snow, Father.

Lead us into repentance of our sins by the hearing of Your word, in the guidance of Your Holy Spirit!

Open us to Your refining process, ever how painful, Father, that we may be useful for Your kingdom’s work.

Overflow us with Your cleansing water of grace and mercy and Your joy and forgiveness.

Deliver us from the evil one today, O God. May we not be lead into temptation, as we live and breathe and have our being, for Your name’s sake.

Overspread the path You have for each of us with the light of Your presence as we stumble along in our light.

For You, our souls long, dear Jesus. We thank You for giving Yourself that we might live.

Justified by You, Father, help us to live as we are Yours. May our pride be overshadowed by Your life shining through us.

Enthuse us with the joy of Your Spirit living in us so that this world may want to know why we are different and we can tell them.

Send us people in our paths who need to know You, Father, and shine Your Spirit on them through us.

Unify us in one accord; to tell the world about Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Savior.

Sing my soul, and tell all He’s done, ‘til the earth and heavens are filled with His glory!”1

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen!

God, our Father, we come in adoration with praise to You for Your grace to us in this worship experience today.

Remind us of Your great love for us today, Father, as we seek Your face.  May we know Your presence once again.

Attune our hearts and minds to Your word for us today, Father. May attentiveness to You be our focus.

Correct our leanings to our pride and set us upright again in Your love, for we long to be more like You, O God!

Enter into our worship, dear Lord, to make it into a celebration of only You.  Thank You, again, for loving us in Your grace.

In the name of the one who is grace to us, even Jesus Christ, we pray.  Amen!

Wondrous heavenly Father, we bow before You today in worship, praise, and adoration.

Attracted to Your goodness and mercy, we long for You Jesus! We want to live in Your presence. We invite You to watch over us!

Today is Your day, Father. You have made it for us. We acknowledge Your creation with all of its beauty and order given to us, Your children.

Come and watch over us, we pray, O God. We really do want Your watch care. Sometimes we don’t respond well to being watched, Father, but we need You to watch over us, please?

Hear our prayer, Father. During this season of life we remember past things and, perhaps we laugh, perhaps we cry, and sometimes we are numb to the remembrances. Hear, O Lord.

Mend our skinned knees from the times we have run ahead of or away from You and have fallen in our sins, Father.

Empty us of our selfish pride that tends to keep us in a broken state of mind and body, O God.

Dilute the sinful influences of this world’s allures with the power of Your word and the leading of Your Holy Spirit, Father.

Allow us to be “watch-worthy” imitators of You, Father. May others see, feel, and know Jesus in us each day.

Delay Your judgement for Your name’s sake, Father, as we strive to tell others of Your saving grace and help us to be watch-worthy witnesses daily.

We pray in Your name, Jesus. Thank You for watching Your children. Amen!

Almighty God and King, we bow in Your presence to seek Your face as we worship today.

Withering under the pressure of temptation, we come asking forgiveness of our sins of commission, as well as omission, Father.

Enter into our space, Lord, and accept the love we have for You through Jesus, Your Son, dear Father.

Save us through the love of Your Son, O God, that we might be useful to You as as an example of Your awesome love in this world.

Open the eyes of our hearts, Lord, that we may see and sense Your presence and know Your love, once again.

Move among us Lord as we worship and find those who need You the most and use us to bring You to them.

Enable us, Your children, to be bearers of Your love to those You send to our paths, O Lord.

Lord, let Your love flow through us to this world that it, and we, may be saved from destruction by this world’s prince.

Overcome our selfish pride and sinful ways in the power of Your Holy Spirit living in and through us, Father.

Verify Your presence in us by our actions, Lord! We want to be like You. Help us Lord.

Envelope us in Your awesome love that produces in us graceful and merciful action to others, Father!

In the name of love itself, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen!

Looking After…

Gloria Scott sunset photo Feb 2013

(an acrostic prayer)

Lord, God, Creator and Sustainer of us all, we come to worship You, Father.

Open Your eyes of love to us today, Father, that we may feel You looking after us, even now!

Observe in us, Your children, something of a reflection of Your love for mankind, Father. May we look after the people You put in our paths, as You look after us.

Kernel Your love in us so the very center of our beings will be full of Your love and peace and joy and justice, as You look after us today.

Invigorate those God-given emotions that cause us to see as You see; to do as You would do, and to look after one another in Your name.

Naked we feel when we accept Your looking after us, Father. Help us to know the joy of realizing that Your love is what is looking after us.

Gather us to Yourself, Father, that You may help us see You and that we would worship You in spirit and in truth.

Abbreviate Your anger toward us today, Father, for the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, as we repent of our sins and seek forgiveness.

Fearful, we are, Father, that sometimes we try to hide from Your “looking after.” Satan has, once again, sold us a bill-of-goods.  And we are less for having taken it as gospel instead of Your Word..

Thrust us from this place of comfort into Your world to “look after” even as we are “looked after” by You Father!

Empty us of pride and selfish reactions to Your offer of grace and mercy, O God. Fill us with Your Spirit today!

Remind us of whose we are, dear Father. We are Your children who need looking after today and we bow before you O God.

In the name of the one who “looks after” us, even Jesus Christ, we pray!  Amen!!
