Remember!…

Dark to Light

(an acrostic prayer)

Remembering past actions by others causes us to drop to our knees to worship You because of Your mercy and Your love, Father.

Eternal in the heavens, You are, O God, yet You see and feel our distress and You shower us with Your grace.

Move us to forgiveness for sins committed against us, Father, as You have forgiven sins we have committed against You.

Envelope us in Your mercy, Father. May we be and become more merciful, O God. May we be Your instruments of peace in this world.

Mountains of hate and evil seem to prevail in our land, dear Lord. Help us to disarm that hate and evil with Your love in Your grace.

Before we were created, You had a plan for us, Father. May we seek Your will and Your plan for us as we worship and as we allow Your Spirit to live in and through us each day.

Empty us of our selfish, hurtful, prideful attitudes and actions, Father. Fill us with Yourself, that the world would know You through us each day we live.

Remember us, even as the dying thief on the cross, we ask You to remember us as we live and breathe and have our being, dearest Father.

In the name of the one who neither slumber nor sleeps, but remembers His children. Amen.

Sovereign Lord, Eternal God, our Heavenly Father, all glory and praise be to you as we come to worship You today.

Pour out Your mercy, grace, and love anew on Your people who wait here in Your presence, O Lord.

Infill our hearts and refresh our minds with the words of Your scripture interpreted by Your Holy Spirit, Father.

Remake us in the image of Your Son, Jesus, O Father, that we may commune as one people with You, today.

Image us with Your grace, O God, until we are known as Yours in this world.  May the world come to know You as they know us!

Tether us close to You as we worship today, Father.  We need to feel You close and abiding with us, Your children.

Wake us to Your will for us, here in this place, and as we spill out on the path that You have for each of us, O Father.

Accept our pleas for forgiveness, dear Lord, as we confess our sins and lean into Your mercy, just now.

Lead us no into temptation, Father. May our minds be renewed in Your grace and settled by Your Spirit.

Kindle a new spirit within us that overflows with love for one another in Your peace and love.

Instruct us from Your Word today as it is broken for us and feed us on Your truth, O God.

Newness of Life in Your Spirit, dear God, we long to be new and to be more like Your son, Jesus.

Goodness and mercy are available from You, Father. We claim Your promises in Your Word and by Your Spirit living in us.

We pray in the name of Jesus, Your Son.  Amen!

Lord, God Almighty, Creator of life and Father of us all, we bow down to worship You in Your presence and in the power of Your Spirit.

Instill in us the sense of freedom in Your grace through our faith in Jesus, Your Son and our Savior!

Before faith, we were captives of this world, Father, and we still ache under the strivings in our flesh. We seek your peace and forgiveness.

Engage us with Your word today, O God. May we see You in the words we hear, the thoughts we think and the actions we undertake. Lord, make us the instruments of your peace and love today.

Reveal Yourself to us today in the Spirit of holiness so we may know your freedom from the temptation to sin. Help us to know Your truth by Your Spirit’s presence.

Teach us how to share Your truth in the midst of the world where we live, Father. May others see Jesus in us and come to know Your truth in their lives.

Yours is the kingdom, and the power, today and forevermore.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, we pray. Amen and Amen!

God, our Father, we come in adoration with praise to You for Your grace to us in this worship experience today.

Remind us of Your great love for us today, Father, as we seek Your face.  May we know Your presence once again.

Attune our hearts and minds to Your word for us today, Father. May attentiveness to You be our focus.

Correct our leanings to our pride and set us upright again in Your love, for we long to be more like You, O God!

Enter into our worship, dear Lord, to make it into a celebration of only You.  Thank You, again, for loving us in Your grace.

In the name of the one who is grace to us, even Jesus Christ, we pray.  Amen!

(an acrostic prayer)

Coming now into this space, we come to worship You through Your Son, Jesus Christ, our King, O God.

Remove the influence of this world, at least while we are here in this place, Father. We want to focus on You!

Open the eyes and ears of our hearts, O God, that we may see You as king and hear Your mercy calling out to us today.

Would that we would be fitting subjects to our king, Father. Forgive and cleanse us today.

Now is the time to worship, O God. We lift our voices in adoration to You as King of all glory, Father.

Hear our prayer, O Lord, for we are undone in our sin and guilt before You today. We have no defense for our actions, O God! Please save us.

Include us in the named children who call You, Father, O God. May this world know you when it knows us!

Move us from our thrones to Your throne of life, Father. Make us new in Your sight.

Keep us from the evil one’s temptations, O God. Help us to see the way of escape that You provide for each of us who believe in Your Son!

Intercept us through Your grace, O God. Keep us in Your hands and protect us in Your mercy.

No one else deserves our praise and worship, O Lord! We bow and praise You, Father.

God Almighty, King and ruler over all, we come to crown You as our king, even right now, O God!

We pray in the name of our King, Jesus Christ. Amen!

(an acrostic prayer)

Gracious and merciful heavenly Father, we bow in reverence and adoration at Your feet today to worship You, in spirit and in truth.

Order our lives just as You ordered Your creation in the beginning of time, by Your grace, Father.

Dark is our path at times, Father. Please refocus us and aim us once again in the direction of Your light that we may walk in Your light and not our own.

Sequence us in the proper order to do Your will as You provide the wherewithal to see and to do Your kingdom’s work here and wherever You take us.

Grace us once again with Your Spirit’s character of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, O God.

Reactivate our faith, Father, that we would not live in fear and doubt, but in the shadow of Your love.

Accompany Your grace with the mercy of Your love, dear Father. We wilt without the mercy that You give in Your grace.

Calling out for forgiveness of our sins, we throw ourselves on Your feet and cry for mercy, O God!

Empty us of the fear of living, Father. May we once again find in You, life and the light for our living. May we seek to live in the light of your gracious grace, Father.

In the light of Your grace and mercy, Father, we pray, with thanksgiving. Amen!

(an acrostic prayer)

High and holy God, Father and creator of us all, we worship You today!

Interrupt our over-busy lives with the stillness of Your peace, Father.

Greater than all our anxious thoughts and prideful sins, O God, we come to see and to hear You in Your word today.

Hear us as we repent of our selfish ways, that we might again enjoy Your presence, O Lord.

Align our thoughts with Your thoughts, O God, that we may be what You want us to become.

New beings in You, O God, is what we seek as we confess and worship today!

Deliver Your church from the evils of this world, that it might be the light You mean for it to be.

High and holy is Your name, O God. May we always seek to lift high Your name as we walk this sod.

Open the floodgates of Your grace and mercy on us, Lord, when we are tempted to dwell in the land of our past mistakes and sins.

Lead us in the promised land that You have given to Your children. Help us not to be afraid of where You are leading!

You are our high and holy God, Father. Hear our prayers today as we worship You!

In the High and Holy name of Jesus, we pray! Amen!
